SETAREH. A NEWBORN STAR BY FONTANA ARTE

Setareh, ‚star‘ in the ancient Farsi language, is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for Fontana Arte. No wonder the new lamp was immediately discovered by the Italian Interni. For Librizzi, there is no news to be published in numerous magazines and international media including Do-mus, Abitare, Lotus, Wallpaper bei Dezeen. The Milanese architect is recognizable by a specific approach to any construction – be it the staircase, the lamp, the installation or some other object, each of them demonstrates Librizzi‘s love of graphics, gravitation, and some of the avant-garde techniques.

The design of Setareh has a futuristic hint and demonstrates an exceptional grace. The lamp is composed of a sphere in hand-blown white satin glass, suspended magically within a thin metal structure, whereas the play of trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field a visible space influenced by light.

The suspension comes in several variants. The elongated version, with two or three spherical elements that may work individually or together, is a perfect choice for illumination of large spaces with double-height ceilings.
