The Volum collection is the re-interpretation of a lighting archetype from the point of view of an international design and architecture studio. It is a product that offers the same level of functionality and aesthetics from every point in the space and, at the same time, celebrates the art of glassmaking. Designed to fill a space with a 360-degree illumination, Volum glows uniformly in all directions providing a calming and coherent radiance.
Paying homage to the Italian tradition of spherical glass lamps and the art of glassblowing, which gives glass naturally imperfect shapes, Volum was conceived as four units that are different in shape and size and that live alone or complement each other intuitively and harmoniously.
Seamless and understated, each Volum globe sees the diffuser and frame appear as a single form. To achieve this level of superb cleanliness, the upper part of the glass has designed so that it can be closed with a translucent methacrylate lid that “seals” the lamp. While the lid conceals a metal part attached to the diffuser and the frame that houses the light source, the only exposed element on the outside is a small opening that allows the cable in and helps balance the globe.
